Whatz UP?

Please bear with me, Hub hasn't starts his work yet so I am still in 'Holiday' mood and not doing any 'New' cooking or baking or even anything!! But we have been looking around for new place to move to. And we sort of place our deposit at this new apartment which will give me a larger living area. Erm from the current 680SQF to maybe the new 844SQF,  the Kitchen area would be so much bigger.

I will be staying like minutes away from a dog park, a Premium Outlet, Target, Restaurants, Dillards, JCPenny, Cinema etc. It would be so convenient moving over to ALLEN, TEXAS. I am so excited, hopefully there isn't any more changes to Hub's plan but then with Hub, you never know! We might just be in Alaska for all I know, 计划永远赶不上变化!

We really need to be here for another maybe 5-7 years!

Some random sightings ...
Love the Penguin and Target DOG, next year if I have a bigger Patio maybe I can get some X'mas Decor to do up the Patio!

Even Hmart is organizing Event; Singing, Dancing Compeition!!
Usually when outside we will eat french fries and sandwich!
Ham and sandwich for a few days of breakfast!
A large X'mas tree at ALLEN.
Hub find a rather good grade of Steak, woah it is really really good!
Doesn't even need a knife to slice the beef ...
Our Thanksgiving Turkey Breast; very simple just throw everything into the Oven and baked for 2hours!
And we ate up all the leftover Baked Turkey Breast with WRAP!
Yummmmmieeeee ...
Hub's requested this UDON curry; it is a great idea to match UDON with Japanese Curry!
A relaxing morning with just the Laptop and breakfast ...

And lastly, I shall include some pictures of my would be future home?
If everything goes smoothly, that top floor apartment would be my future nest for next 6months.
Which faces a small garden, so I wouldn't have pictures of fantastic sunset view anymore. I will have to console myself I have some other stuffs to look forward too ...
I guess the future home would be somewhat that looks like this!
I will definitely miss all the sunset view that I have been enjoying for the past 3years ...
I wish I do not need to move but I need MORE space and a bigger kitchen!

Some of my BFS 2011 BUYS!

Our first BF buy was actually CROCS!
So funny right?
Hub is already aiming for these shoes when he came back but read online that CROCS will be having a BOGO sales so he waited and true enough, CROCS has BOGO!

Then Hub decide to reward me with a Karaoke SET!
WOoooOOoo like FINALLY I am getting a Karaoke set, and with 20% discount how can Hub resist right? Erm not cheap but SO HAPPY!

And we actually went down and queue up 3 hours for the Xbox 360 Kinect Bundle at Walmart and gotten the set with a few other games. It was a great buy, we gotten the set at US$199.00 which include 1 games, and we purchased 3 other games as well! In the end, we paid $275.00 for like 1 Xbox 360 kinect set and 4 games + a US$50.00 giftcard! Great deal, but we queue 3hours and Hub has to literally 'FIGHT' for the games. It was FUN, and we got what we wanted and MORE>
I wonder will we get anything during Cybermonday!?

LocknLock : Fermented kimchi Squid - Pt 1 Wash, Cut and SALT!

From Wikipedia
Ggolddugijeot (꼴뚜기젓) - jeot made with small squid

This fermented Squid is done totally  using recipes from maangchi.com. I totally love her blog for Korean food recipe, and the next korean dish which I probably going to try would be Jajiangmian!

I love this side dish, and sometimes I think this is my MAIN dish! Slowly my Hubs grew to love it as well and we ALWAYS have to fight for our RIGHTFUL SHARE! I usually bought this fermented Squid from Hmart and it price has risen to USD9.99/lb !! SO EXPENSIVE, so I tell MYSELF I have to learn to DIY it MYSELF! So hopefully one month later, my fermented SQUID would look like the below!! Hahaha ...
Here is my pictorial for Part 1: Fermenting the Squid with Salt.
I bought a packet of Squid which is about 1.3lbs.
I washed them and rinsed them ...
And cut them to bite size.
And rinsed them again ...
And I whipped out my Lock&Lock BOROSEAL II, Borosilicate Glass Rectangular Container to prep and keep my fermented squid for ONE MONTH. When you are prepping for such Fermented dish, Lock&Lock Glass and SEAL is the way to go. You want to prevent Salt oxidisation and of course the 'Stench' of fermentation escaping. And these are the 'MERIT POINT' as mentioned from Lock&Lockplace.com, which is essential to prep such fermented dish!!

(Extract from Lock&Lock website.)
* Excellent airtightness with the 4-side locking system* Cooking in oven, or use it as bakeware (without lid)
* Salt and oxidation resistant* Microwave safe! (without lid)
* From oven to table at once
* Freezer to microwave at once
* Stain and odor resistant

To continue, u\you need ALOT of salt.
As mentioned by maangchi.com, 1lbs is almost about 5tbsps of Salt.
So there I go layer by layer ...
Everything CLEAR and see through!!
This is my first trial, hopefully I am successful!!
End of Part 1 : Chuck the container into the fridge and see you in a month's time!
